I found this Tiger Swallowtail dead, caught in the netting above my raised bed. It was found with broken wings. Netting has since been removed and in the meantime replaced with rope to keep hungry critters away.

Papilio Glaucus AKA the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly is native to my area. The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail caterpillar lives for about 3 to 4 weeks, they enter chrysalis for 10 - 20 days, and then emerge as the Tiger Swallowtail butterfly which lives for only 6 to 14 days! Truly a beautiful sight!
